Theatre Arts Camp 2009 (grades 3-12)
Designed to enrich, educate and introduce young people to the creative world of the theatre. This six-week summer program, beginning June 22, 2009 , covers the theatrical aspects of music, dance, theatre and art three days per week.
Students will come to understand how all the arts interrelate during classes and rehearsals. Lessons in acting methods, dance technique/composition, voice/music skills and visual art design are taught. Collaboration, creative problem solving, stage presence and backstage protocol are also emphasized. Camp culminates with a fully staged student production, open to the public, the final weekend of camp. This year's camp production is The Big Time! A Salute to Vaudeville.

Young Actors Ensemble 2009 (grades 9-12 and 2009 high school grads)
This class is for a select group of students entering grades 9-12 and 2009 grads who want to enroll in an intensive acting study. In this challenging program, creativity, collaboration and discipline are emphasized as students explore the acting process in a supportive and nurturing environment. The Young Actors Ensemble provides a balance between studio work and performance by culminating in a showcase production at the end of the session. This year's showcase is entitled Relative Connections . The showcase consists of scripted scene work and original pieces from the students' work during the session. *Note: this is not a musical theatre class .
Placement in the class is by audition only. Previous theatre experience is encouraged, but not necessary. The student's depth of dedication to learning about the craft of theatre is considered in the selection process.
