Whether you want to be on Broadway or just be more comfortable in front of other people - our theatre classes are for you, providing skills that can be applied to every facet of your life. Komic Kidz (ages 4-5)
Does your child enjoy puppet shows, cartoon characters and nursery rhymes? If so, your child will love this class. Students participate in theatrical games and socially engaging exercises that encourage their speech and motor skills development. Through creative interaction with other children of the same age, communication and socialization skills are also emphasized. Mark your calendars - Class culminates in a performance for family and friends on Sharing Day during the final class.

Bring stories to life! Each week children are immersed in the art of theatre to bring a favorite storybook to life. The basics of theatre are taught as students act out a new book each week. Class culminates with a Sharing Day and "cast" party on the last day of class!

Wee Wizard of Oz (ages 6-8)Follow the yellow brick road as we join Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, the Lion, Toto, Glinda and the Wicked Witch through several great Oz adventures. Through vocal exercises, theatre games, blocking, and character building, you'll have more heart, brains and courage than you know what to do with, and your family and friends will shout, "there is no place like home!" on Sharing Day.

Presenting.. You (ages 6-8) Sorry, this class has been cancelled.
This 12-week class focuses on the skills needed to speak in public - whether it's in front of 2 or 2,000 people! Whether you are reporting on your favorite book to your classmates, reading aloud to your parents or making a presentation to your entire school, this class prepares you for speaking in public and works on confidence building, vocal projection, diction and pronunciation. Using various exercises and games, we bring out the real you! There are opportunities to present various kinds of writing; poetry, newspaper articles, literature, and self-created speeches. Feel free to bring your favorite piece of writing to the first class. The last class of the session will be dedicated to a Sharing Day where you can present your new skills to friends and family. Class begins on September 6 and ends on November 22.

Enjoy the best of both worlds! Did you ever want to be someone more than just an average teenager? What do you do when you come home from school each day? Ever want to live a secret double life as a rock star? Then this is the class for you! Perform skits, improv scenes, and learn the basics of acting/voice projection as we celebrate the adventures of Miley Stewart (Hannah Montana), Lily and Miley's father. Your family and friends will embrace your inner rock star on Sharing Day.

If you are a Shel Silverstein fan or you just love acting wickedly silly, this class is for you. In this theatre class, you will BECOME the caricatures that Shel creates in his off-the-wall, slyly giddy mind. Leave your everyday ordinary humdrum lives at home and step into the skins of wildly imaginative, cunningly clever, vivacious characters. Character development, monologue preparation and auditioning skills will be emphasized. Class culminates in a performance for family and friends on Sharing Day.

Readers Theater: Theater of Imagination (ages 12-14) Sorry, this class has been cancelled.
Learn the basics of Readers Theater and apply to several scripts from light comedy to the intensity of Poe's "Raven" and "Black Cat." RT is an activity in which students, while reading from a script, are able to tell a story in a most entertaining form. Students are encouraged to "ham it up" and use intonation and gestures to their character and their character's words. You will love RT! Come on, try something new!

Especially designed for advanced theatre students, this in-depth study of acting techniques will challenge you. Students learn about the craft of theatre through vocal and movement exercises, character development, improvisation and scene study. Professionalism and collaboration are stressed in this class for the serious actor. Consistent attendance is expected and all students are required to participate in a final showcase for family and friends on Sharing Day.

Musical Theatre 101 (ages 12-18)
How do you bring music to life on stage? Come find out! Learn the elements of a song, the meaning behind the lyrics and how to create an unforgettable piece of musical theatre. Discover how to use musical notation and acting techniques to WOW the audience. Gain insight into the methods used by composers and what they mean to you as a performer. This class culminates with a showcase performance on Sharing Day for family and friends.

The Director's Process - How Does He/She Do It? (ages 14-18) Sorry, this class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
What does a director actually do? Explore examples of directing to see how the director prepares before he/she begins rehearsals. Take the directing helm and work on scenes and monologues with your classmates. Students look at how a director analyzes a play and forms his or her vision for the project, as well as the nuts and bolts of staging. Please bring a monologue or scene to the first class. The last class of the session will be dedicated to presenting and sharing student-directed scenes for friends and family.
